Objective / Purpose of the Job

Continuous Improvement Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce cost to improve overall business performance. This individual will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis, developing optimization strategies and driving process improvement in warehousing & express nodes such as stations, hubs & gateways.


Key Activities / Accountabilities

  • Design and develop innovative warehousing and express nodes solutions to address identified challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Determine the most efficient sequence of workflow, establishing methods in optimizing the utilization of equipment, floor space/layout and human capital.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of work processes, data and metrics, identify root-cause and potential solutions, reduce unnecessary touch-points and waste to improve overall productivity.
  • Develop and implement data-driven approaches to assess the effectiveness of the existing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to team during implementation in adopting to new solutions/processes.
  • Conduct Post process compliance audit for each of the Warehouse and distribution onboard.
  • Ensure warehouse storage space utilization to the optimum against plan.
  • Ensure labour productivity rate achieve optimum against pre-optimization baseline within 90days.


Working Conditions

  • On the ground works when necessary to conduct work and motion studies, work-flow design & setup and on-boarding of new processes.
  • Normal office hours with extended hours when the need arises.
  • Fast pace, wide range of tasks & knowledge required.
  • May need to travel cross-state if projects warrant such needs.



Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Diploma/Degree holder in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Operation Research or Supply Chain Management
  • 5-10 years of working experience in process improvement, optimization or consulting in warehousing and/or express logistic distribution
  • Strong analytics and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques (E.g. MS Excel/SQL/Pyton)
  • Knowledge of express logistic process, procedure and methods
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communications, composition and creative writing
  • Ability to work independently and a great team player
  • Independent self-starter who consistently demonstrates initiatives
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize works to work on multiple projects
  • Willing to learn new concepts and methodologies in constantly evolving work environment
  • Professional result driven attitude
  • Strong follow up and coordinating skills
  • Strong critical thinking / analysis skills (Being able to dig down to the root of the problem and not be blurred by trivial tasks)
  • Project management skills
  • Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia & Chinese (Preferred)
